Software Development Engineer II, Software Defined Network Control Plane, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative by Amazon to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites aimed at providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

As a Software Development Engineer II on the SDN Control Plane team, you'll be at the forefront of developing core wireless and networking solutions for an advanced global telecom service. The role involves solving complex multi-dimensional routing problems at a global scale, designing and implementing the network control plane that will power Kuiper's satellite constellation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver a modern, flexible, scalable, high throughput, low latency network architecture
• Implement planning and scheduling of network links at scale
• Develop highly-available software for networking control plane operations
• Define and automate software development processes and maintenance
• Ensure operational excellence for control plane services

The SDN Control Plane team is building the brain that drives the Kuiper Network, working with satellite ground control services, customer engagement systems, and monitoring services to deliver optimal network performance. You'll be part of a team that values innovation and tackles challenging problems presented by managing a dynamic network at global scale.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 per year based on geographic location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. This role requires U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or refugee/asylum status due to export control regulations.
