The Challenge: Whole Foods Market Engineering Services (WFMES) is seeking passionate and innovative Software Development Engineers to join their newly formed Engineering Services team. This team will tackle complex projects and deliver innovative technical solutions to advance the retail grocery industry.
The Role: As a WFM Software Development Engineer, you will:
- Help translate business requirements into concrete systems and prototype concepts
- Design, develop, and deploy reliable distributed solutions that operate at Amazon scale
- Work with core languages and technologies including Java, Kotlin, React, and AWS services
- Tackle challenging, novel situations daily
- Contribute to redefining an industry while working with different teams across Amazon and Whole Foods Market
- Learn, have fun, and make a positive impact on many people
- Contribute to the Higher Purpose of Nourishing People and the Planet
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and create brand new products and services to improve customer experiences
- Translate business objectives into technical solutions
- Explore unknown territory and invent simple solutions to complex problems
- Collaborate closely with your team to influence outcomes and propose new directions
- Utilize great interpersonal communication skills
- Continuously improve ways of communicating and sharing your work
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Hands-on experience building with AWS technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
