Software Development Engineer, SandOP

Amazon's Global Supply Chain Optimization team (SCOT) is seeking a passionate software engineer to join their innovative team. This role focuses on building systems that optimize the distribution of millions of products to Amazon's warehouses worldwide. The team develops forecasting platforms and automated systems that drive critical decisions in buying, labor planning, and inventory routing.

The position is within the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) technology team, which manages the flow of inventory, storage space, and labor constraints. The team uses Machine Learning and traditional models to generate forecasts and optimize plans for various logistics flows, from country-level supply chains to individual warehouse bins.

The Integrated Planning Tool (IPT) is a key system used by thousands of users, featuring manual overrides, Excel integration, and data visualization. The platform collects and analyzes actual flow data to track accuracy, train models, and support automated decision-making for inventory placement and labor hiring.
