Software Development Engineer, SandOP

Join Amazon's Global Supply Chain Optimization team (SCOT) as a Software Development Engineer working on critical systems that power Amazon's worldwide distribution network. You'll be part of a team that builds systems to forecast and optimize the distribution of tens of millions of products to Amazon's warehouses in the most cost-effective way. The role involves working on the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) technology used in planning and controlling inventory flow, storage space, and labor constraints.

The team operates the Integrated Planning Tool (IPT), a collaborative web-based interface used by thousands of users for forecasting and optimization. You'll work with machine learning and traditional models to generate operations plans for various flows including arrivals, shipments, transfers, and customer returns. The systems you'll build help make multi-billion dollar decisions about network steering, particularly around Prime Days and Peak seasons.

This is an opportunity to solve complex supply chain optimization problems at unprecedented scale. You'll be working with experienced Amazonians to conceive, design, and implement innovative solutions in a large distributed computing environment. The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to build scalable, fault-tolerant systems that handle complex mathematical modeling and simulations.
