Description For Software Support Engineer, Audible

Join Amazon's Digital Media Technology group as a Software Support Engineer at Audible, where you'll be at the forefront of digital media delivery and presentation. This role is part of a shared services organization providing multi-faceted application engineering services to multiple Digital product development teams. You'll work with cutting-edge digital products including Amazon Kindle, Digital Video, Audio, Music, Audible, and Digital Text products.

As a Software Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing first-level support and engineering solutions for Audible's platform. Your role involves extensive troubleshooting, debugging, and maintenance of coding projects across multiple product lines. You'll work with various technologies including Perl, shell scripts, web technologies, and Java-based projects.

The position requires strong technical skills combined with excellent problem-solving abilities. Responsibilities For Software Support Engineer, Audible

  • Provide first level of support for tickets filed in Audible
  • Provide engineering support including troubleshooting and debugging across multiple product lines
  • Work on maintenance of coding projects in Perl, shell scripts, web technologies, and Java
  • Read and understand complex application code and make code fixes
  • Software deployment support in staging and production environments
  • Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance
  • System and Support status reporting
  • Ownership of Digital products or components
  • Customer notification and workflow coordination
  • Work with Audible engineering team on support issues and knowledge base

Requirements For Software Support Engineer, Audible

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 2-4 years overall development/technical support experience
  • 2-4 years of experience troubleshooting complex Enterprise Level applications
  • 2-4 years of experience with networking, hardware performance and audio/video technologies
  • Development Experience in Python/Ruby/NodeJS/C/Java or open source technologies
  • Experience in Perl or shell scripts, XML/SOAP, web services, web application development
  • Experience in UNIX/Linux operating system and tools
  • Strong communication skills and experience in handling high severity incident management calls
