Description For Sr Business Intelligence Engineer, Global Talent Management and Compensation (GTMC)

Amazon's Global Talent Management and Compensation (GTMC) team is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join their Modeling Analytics and Research Science (MARS) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact 300,000+ Amazonians worldwide through data-driven talent programs. You'll work within the SIERRA team (Science, Insights, Engineering Research, Reporting and Analytics), collaborating with Research Scientists and Data Scientists to drive strategic talent decisions.

As a Senior BIE, you'll be responsible for end-to-end business intelligence for Amazon's proprietary talent products. You'll work directly with senior leadership, including the SVP of PXT, to improve existing programs and shape the future of Amazon's talent landscape. The role combines technical expertise in data analysis, statistical methods, and programming with strategic business insight.

Key aspects of the role include developing reproducible research analyses, building proof-of-concept reporting tools, and scaling data access solutions. You'll use advanced SQL and Python skills to handle large-scale data sets, apply statistical methods, and translate complex findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements For Sr Business Intelligence Engineer, Global Talent Management and Compensation (GTMC)

Python
  • 10+ years of professional or military experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience in scripting for automation (Python) and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
