Sr. Controls Systems Engineer, Mechatronics

The Sr. Controls Systems Engineer role at Amazon focuses on advancing packaging platforms to enhance customer experience and internal fulfillment efficiency. This position is integral to Amazon's Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) organization, which develops and deploys automated solutions across Amazon's Fulfillment Network. The role requires deep expertise in advanced motion control systems and architecture integration, working with various subsystems including HMI, PLC, Motion Control, safety systems, adhesive application, labeling, date coding, and vision systems.

The position involves close collaboration with Electrical and Mechanical engineering teams, prototyping, internal manufacturing, and other technical support teams to ensure machinery and automation platforms meet project objectives in terms of rate, availability, quality, cost, and functionality. The engineer will be responsible for designing and programming control systems that improve the sustainability and total cost position of Amazon's packaging solutions.

This role is particularly exciting as it sits at the intersection of automation and sustainability, working to eliminate waste and transition from single-use plastics to recyclable paper-based materials where packaging is required. The engineer will be part of a team that impacts the entire Amazon Stores supply chain and customer experience, from selling partner design to first/middle/last mile delivery.
