Description For Sr. Display Electro-Optical Engineer, OPD Hardware

We're seeking a skilled Display Electro-Optical Engineer to be a key player in our innovative product development process. In this role, you'll collaborate with a diverse team to drive the conception, design, and optimization of display components, ensuring top-notch performance and user experience. Key job responsibilities:

  • Utilize expertise in algorithm design, advanced machine learning, and programming of electro-optical hardware to drive innovation in display technology.
  • Develop imaging machine vision systems to interrogate display functionality and performance.
  • Bridge the gap between computer science and electro-optical engineering, particularly in relation to Board Support Package (BSP) integration and familiarity with display driving tools.
  • Enable LED optimization and integration for enhanced display capabilities
  • Lead the measurement, testing, and evaluation of optical components, systems, and algorithms, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Employ automated data acquisition and analysis techniques to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Utilize advanced computational modeling and simulation to investigate design fundamentals and identify potential limitations in display technology.
  • Leverage strong familiarity with optical equipment, color science, and psychovisual research to drive quality and performance improvements.
  • Apply a keen understanding of Customer Experience (CX) and User Experience (UX) principles to design experiments and conduct user studies for component and design qualification.

About the team: Our team is dedicated to designing and integrating display modules for Kindle and Echo devices. We work collaboratively to meet end product requirements, investigating various display modules, integrating sub-components from vendors, and testing performance across optical, electrical, mechanical, and process capabilities. With a startup mentality, we explore new technologies to enhance our products, building demos and architecture documents for Proof-Of-Concept evaluations.
