Sr Software Development Engineer, Amazon Fulfillment Technologies, Inbound Foundation and Routing Team

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join their Inbound Foundations and Routing team. AFT powers the physical engine at Amazon, building and operating software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers. This role focuses on developing large-scale, distributed systems that optimize customer order fulfillment and interface with physical infrastructure including conveyors and robots.

The position involves creating software solutions that directly impact Amazon's performance, potentially affecting hundreds of millions in USD. The team operates with a startup culture, emphasizing agile decision-making and quick launches. The IBFR team specifically builds core software components and services that orchestrate inventory movement within warehouses, supporting over 570 fulfillment centers across North America, Europe, and Japan.

As a Senior SDE, you'll be responsible for engaging with multiple teams, designing and developing scalable solutions, and supporting large-scale applications. The role requires someone who can build new software from scratch, create practical solutions for complex business challenges, and work effectively with operations staff worldwide. You'll be using cutting-edge AWS technologies, big data approaches, and machine learning to build highly available systems.
