Sr. Solutions Architect, GFS Solutions Architecture

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking experienced and motivated technologists with a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills for the role of Solutions Architect. In this position, you will partner with some of the world's largest financial services companies, AWS Sales, and other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.

As a Solutions Architect, you will:

• Drive revenue growth across a small set of systemically important global financial services customers
• Act as a trusted customer advocate, helping organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions and migrating existing workloads to the cloud
• Shape and execute strategies to build mind-share and broad use of AWS within enterprise customers
• Collaborate with sales teams to exceed revenue objectives through AWS adoption
• Own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS
• Make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in deep architectural discussions
• Conduct training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers
• Capture and share best practices within the AWS solutions architect community
• Contribute to customer-facing publications such as whitepapers
• Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customer organizations

The ideal candidate will have:

• 8+ years of experience in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
• 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures
• 8+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries
• Strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions, including HPC and machine learning
• Past experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, or architect
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive-level stakeholders
• A passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions for diverse enterprise customers
• The ability to connect technology with measurable business value
• A self-motivated attitude and proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting

Preferred qualifications include:

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience
• Experience working with end-user or developer communities
• 5+ years of FSI Industry experience in capital markets or related fields, or experience in another highly regulated industry
