Description For Support Engineer, Device OS

Amazon Lab126, an innovative R&D subsidiary of Amazon.com, is seeking a Support Engineer for their Core Device OS team. Founded in 2004, Lab126 has been instrumental in creating groundbreaking consumer electronics including the Kindle family, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Echo, and Amazon Show.

As a Support Engineer, you'll be working on critical OS components, pipelines, services, tools, and application development frameworks that shape how customers interact with Amazon devices. The role demands quick learning and adaptability, as you'll handle various overlapping responsibilities that directly impact product quality and customer experience.

Your primary responsibilities will include providing first-level support for production services, handling Jiras and tickets, and conducting extensive troubleshooting across multiple product lines. You'll work on maintenance-driven coding projects using C++ and Python, develop automation tools, and build monitoring dashboards for system health tracking. Collaboration with the remote development team in Sunnyvale will be crucial for managing support issues and building a comprehensive knowledge base.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Unix environments, proficiency in modern programming languages, and a solid background in either software development or technical support. Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and hardware/software RAID systems would be advantageous.
