Amazon's Global Maintenance Automation Platform (MAP) team is at the forefront of industrial automation and data management, processing billions of data points from sensors and actuators to support the world's largest Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) enterprise. This role combines software engineering with industrial automation expertise, focusing on maintaining and improving systems that connect low-level automation with cloud infrastructure.

As a Support Engineer, you'll be part of a global Operational Excellence team that's driving Industry 4.0 initiatives and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness across Amazon's vast fulfillment network. You'll work alongside top industry engineers to shape the future of automation and machine learning systems within one of the world's most sophisticated logistics operations.

The position involves both technical depth and operational breadth, requiring expertise in software testing, deployment, and maintenance of industrial automation systems. You'll be responsible for ensuring software solutions are error-free before production deployment, managing support tickets, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The role demands a strong background in industrial automation, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems, combined with modern software development practices.

Responsibilities For Support Engineer, Global Maintenance Automation Platform (MAP)

  • Review and test software solutions and new functionalities
  • Deploy software solutions to production facilities remotely or on-site
  • Provide 24/7 customer support
  • Manage trouble tickets to resolution or escalation
  • Maintain products and systems and perform change management activities
  • Identify improvements to existing support processes
  • Contribute to support documentation updates and creation

Requirements For Support Engineer, Global Maintenance Automation Platform (MAP)

  • Experience supporting software development for Industrial Automation (PLC, SCADA and HMI)
  • Flexible schedule/shift/work area availability including weekends, nights, and holidays
