Description For Support Engineer, Smart Device, Operations, IT, & Support Engineering

Amazon Innovation Center in Shenzhen is seeking a Support Engineer to join their Smart Device, Operations, IT, & Support Engineering team. This role focuses on BSP automation tests and virtual platform development, contributing to the delivery of multiple small-scale projects within the product line. The position requires a strong technical background with 2+ years of experience in software development or technical support.

The ideal candidate will work closely with QA/SDET teams to manage test scope and execution, provide technical assistance for various initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. They will be responsible for optimizing scalable processes, creating SOPs, and standardizing test methods under defined high-level test strategies.

Key responsibilities include mentoring team members, managing resource utilization, handling issue escalations, and performing root cause analysis. The role requires strong customer focus, with emphasis on understanding and communicating customer impact for reported issues. The position involves working with UNIX/Linux systems and requires experience in troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.

  • Work on BSP automation tests and virtual platform
  • Understand PDP and test scoping strategy
  • Work with QA/SDET to confirm test scope and allocate test runs
  • Provide technical assistance during implementation
  • Collaborate with managers during operational planning
  • Create SOPs and standardize test methods
  • Mentor and develop DAs/SDAs
  • Handle issue escalations and perform root cause analysis
  • Represent team in external forums

Requirements For Support Engineer, Smart Device, Operations, IT, & Support Engineering

Linux
  • 2+ years of software development or technical support experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system
  • Experience scripting in modern programming languages (preferred)
  • Experience in hardware rework for consumer electronics (preferred)
