System Development Engineer, GCNA

The AWS Enterprise Networking organization is seeking a System Development Engineer to join their Core Service Automation team. In this role, you'll collaborate with System Development, Frontend Engineering, and Network Engineering teams to enhance network stability, consistency, and sustainability while maintaining high security standards. You'll apply your large-scale computing knowledge to develop code and manage services that delight customers.

AWS Global Connectivity and Network Availability (GCNA) forms the backbone connecting the global AWS network, controlling internet traffic for worldwide user access. GCNA is responsible for designing and building a complex backbone network for efficient data flow between data centers and customers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining innovative solutions
• Writing high-quality distributed system software
• Working in an agile environment on critical projects
• Collaborating with various engineering teams for smooth roll-out of new designs and products
• Using data to measure success and ensure service quality
• Contributing to process and procedure documentation
• Participating in an on-call rotation

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of programming experience in languages like C++, Java, Python, or Go
• 3+ years of experience in system monitoring and troubleshooting
• 3+ years of experience with Linux deployment and operations

Salary range: $116,300 - $201,200 per year, depending on location and experience.
