System Development Engineer II, AWS Network Infrastructure

We are looking for a seasoned System Development Engineer to join our Global Connectivity and Infrastructure team at AWS. The ideal candidate possesses a rare mix of depth in functions involving Dev, Ops, and Customer Obsession. You will be working with an agile team developing an ecosystem of tools that support the Global Connectivity and Infrastructure team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and building full-stack solutions
• Using problem-solving skills to collaborate with creative and technical teams
• Delivering novel customer experiences by developing solutions
• Collaborating with teams across Amazon to integrate and optimize existing ad products
• Leveraging technical ability and communication skills to solve challenging problems
• Providing guidance and mentoring to other SDEs in the team
• Ensuring high quality through design reviews and robust engineering practices

The role is within the Global Capacity Infrastructure Development organization, responsible for connecting Amazon locations to one another and to the global Internet. The team is building software solutions that drive increased velocity of network acquisition and deployment processes, as well as developing new microservices to support customer needs.

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems
• 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package, including equity and a full range of benefits. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year to $201,200/year, depending on the geographic market and other factors.
