Description For Systems & Data Specialist, DC Design Engineering

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services is seeking a Systems & Data Specialist for their DC Design Engineering team. This role combines technical expertise in data analysis with engineering process management, focusing on quality assurance and control for design documentation.

The position involves overseeing the review, tracking, and management of design drawings and specifications while ensuring regulatory compliance. You'll work with various internal teams including Engineering, Power and Cooling, Security, and Commissioning to support data center construction projects.

Key responsibilities include system administration, data analysis, and process improvement. You'll manage design consultant documentation, perform quality compliance reviews, and develop solutions to increase design efficiency. The role requires expertise in data modeling, SQL, Python, and experience with project management information systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in data analysis and visualization, combined with knowledge of commercial design and construction processes. You'll need excellent communication skills to work with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities For Systems & Data Specialist, DC Design Engineering

  • Acting as system administrator on project critical systems
  • Provides training initiatives for internal and external partners
  • Prepare ad hoc reports on project's progress and KPIs
  • Manages and executes the vision and goals for the team
  • Develops, creates and maintains systems for reporting and tracking
  • Manage the business metrics reporting process
  • Own design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards
  • Conduct audits to ensure processes are being followed
  • Analyzing, mining, and modeling data for Data Center Design Engineering documents

Requirements For Systems & Data Specialist, DC Design Engineering

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or architecture, or 2+ years' experience as a project engineer
  • 2+ year of experience writing complex SQL queries and Python scripts
  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Up to 25% travel may be required
