Systems Development Engineer

The Enterprise Engineering Unified Communications team at Amazon provides globally scaled, high-quality voice and video communications solutions that support Amazonians worldwide. This role is for a Systems Development Engineer who will play a key part in architecting, designing, supporting, and enhancing AWS-based telecommunications infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

• Building a next-generation telephony platform for Internal Amazon
• Enabling self-healing for systems
• Providing self-service tools for Amazonians to manage personal telecom resources
• Using AWS products, DevOps patterns, and mature CICD processes to build a cloud-scale Telephony system
• Being creative in a space that hasn't seen innovation in decades

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong coding skills
• Detailed knowledge of software development best practices
• Depth in Linux operating systems and networking
• Experience with a wide range of technologies and systems
• Ability to help junior engineers develop their skills
