Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Wireless Security Engineer II to join their Special Programs, Evaluations, Assessments, and Response (SPEAR) Wireless Security team. This role is critical in assessing and protecting wireless security across Amazon's global facilities.
The position involves conducting wireless security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing security tools to protect Amazon's infrastructure. You'll work with cutting-edge wireless technologies including 802.11, Bluetooth, IoT protocols, and cellular networks (2G-5G). The role requires a deep understanding of RF fundamentals and security principles.
As a Wireless Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for identifying and mitigating wireless-related security risks, conducting penetration testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities For Wireless Security Engineer II, SPEAR Wireless Security
- Assess wireless risk in Amazon facilities
- Identify wireless vulnerabilities and mitigate wireless security risks
- Build security tools
- Conduct wireless security assessments of Amazon facilities
- Write accurate findings with appropriately calibrated risk
- Draft and present evaluations reports, briefs, and papers for senior leadership
- Conduct ad-hoc penetration testing
- Engage with partner teams and customers on wireless security topics
Requirements For Wireless Security Engineer II, SPEAR Wireless Security
- 3+ years of experience with security engineering, penetration testing, or wireless security
- 3+ years experience working in wireless vulnerability identification, exploitation, or remediation
- Experience programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language
- Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques
- Demonstrated proficiency with creating testing tools/scripts
- U.S. Person or U.S. Citizen due to ITAR/Export Controlled nature of work
