AIML Resident - Siri Response Engineering

Apple's AIML residency is a year-long program inviting experts in various fields to apply their domain expertise to innovate and build revolutionary machine learning and AI-based products and experiences. The Siri Response Engineering team is seeking a curious and innovative teammate passionate about using groundbreaking research & technology to deliver experiences that surpass user expectations. This team is responsible for building scalable products and services that empower different core functionalities of Siri Response, including AI/ML LLM Model Training & Generation, Data & Model Evaluations, Voice Creation across multiple locales, Siri Pronunciations, Dubbing, and Speech Synthesis. The team also impacts multiple Apple organizations & partners like Apple Maps, News, AppleCare, Fitness, etc. Residents will have the opportunity to attend ML and AI courses, learn from an Apple mentor, collaborate with fellow residents, gain hands-on experience working on high-impact projects, publish in premier academic conferences, and partner with Apple teams across hardware, software, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply domain expertise to innovate and build revolutionary machine learning and AI-based products and experiences
• Work on high-impact projects related to Siri Response Engineering
• Collaborate with fellow residents and Apple teams across hardware, software, and services
• Attend ML and AI courses and learn from an Apple mentor
• Potentially publish research in premier academic conferences

Requirements:

• Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Objective-C, C++, Swift, and/or R
• Experience completing a moderate-sized software project
• Demonstrated ability to connect and collaborate with others
• Graduate degree in a STEM field or equivalent industry experience in software engineering
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) from July 14, 2025 - July 10, 2026

Preferred Qualifications:

• Academic, research, or proven experience in at least one of the following: Databases, Large Language Models / Generative AI, Machine Learning & ML Research, Natural Language Processing/Speech/Conversational AI, or Software Engineering
• Thesis, capstone project, internship, co-op, and/or industry experience in these fields qualifies
