Description For Apple Watch System Validation - Coexistence Engineer

Are you interested in learning what makes the Apple Watch tick? Apple is seeking an enthusiastic system validation coexistence engineer for the Watch System EE team! You will work to define test coverage to understand the interactions between all of the different hardware modules that make up the Apple Watch. The results will inform and guide key decisions in the electrical and mechanical design of the product loved and used worldwide!

This role involves defining test scripts and procedures for coexistence testing during engineering builds. You will work closely with EE design teams and subsystem teams to align on key metrics and quantify the impact of design decisions. You'll be involved in debugging complex problems related to EM coupling within the system and learning about all of the different hardware features that make up the Watch (sensors, RF, analog, digital, etc.). Analyzing collected data and presenting it to wide forums will be a key aspect of the role, along with keeping all teams informed on the status and outcomes of testing in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate must have experience working with many different cross-functional teams, be a team player, and have experience with working on shipping hardware. This is a design engineering position with significant cross-functional interactions to continually push the technology implemented in one of our most complex wearable device products.

Requirements For Apple Watch System Validation - Coexistence Engineer

Python
  • BS in EE or CE
  • 2-5 years prior experience shipping hardware on a system or module team
  • Some exposure to Python based SW/script development
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Desire to mentor
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate
