Description For ASIC Design Engineer

Apple is seeking an ASIC Design Engineer to join their Hardware team in Cupertino, California. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge hardware technology that will impact billions of people worldwide. As an ASIC Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for various aspects of SOC design, including writing microarchitecture specifications, designing and implementing complex logic designs, integrating IPs into SOCs, and supporting front-end integration activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing microarchitecture and design specifications
  • Designing, implementing, and debugging complex logic designs
  • Integrating complex IPs into SOCs
  • Supporting front-end integration activities (Lint, CDC, Synthesis, ECO)
  • Implementing design automation using Python or other languages
  • Collaborating with various teams including SOC Design, Verification, Emulation, STA, and Physical Design
  • Working with software and systems teams to ensure high-quality systems

The ideal candidate should have experience in SoC front-end ASIC RTL digital logic design using Verilog or System Verilog, hands-on experience in chip development processes, and proficiency in front-end tools and methodologies. Knowledge of system architecture, CPU & IP integration, and power and clock management designs is highly desirable.

Apple offers a competitive compensation package, including base pay within the range of $121,900 to $183,600, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Responsibilities For ASIC Design Engineer

  • Write microarchitecture and/or design specifications
  • Design, implement, and debug complex logic designs
  • Integrate complex IPs into the SOC
  • Support front-end integration activities (Lint, CDC, Synthesis, ECO)
  • Implement design automation via Python or other languages
  • Work with specialists from SOC Design, Verification, Emulation, STA, and Physical Design teams
  • Collaborate with software and systems teams to ensure high-quality systems

Requirements For ASIC Design Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in SoC front-end ASIC RTL digital logic design using Verilog or System Verilog
  • Hands-on experience in all aspects of the chip development process
  • Proficiency in front-end tools and methodologies
  • Experience writing specifications and converting them to design
  • Experience with multiple clock domains and asynchronous interfaces
  • Experience in front-end implementation tasks (synthesis, timing, area/power analysis, linting, logic equivalence checks)
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all internal groups
