Apple Maps is undergoing a transformation with data at its core, aiming to build the world's best map. As part of the Data Science organization, you'll join a mission-critical team focused on harnessing user data to power Apple Maps' decision-making processes. This role combines experimental design, AB testing, exploratory data analysis, and AI/ML modeling to ensure Maps data accuracy and reliability.
As a Data Scientist, you'll work directly with Engineering, Product, and Operation teams, focusing on evaluating intricate layers of Maps data. Your work will impact millions of users daily through basemap data and service algorithms. You'll build scalable tools in Python or Scala, design metrics for user engagement, develop models for large-scale data analysis, and communicate insights that shape product direction.
The ideal candidate brings strong quantitative skills with an MS/PhD in a relevant field and 3+ years of data analysis experience. You should be proficient in programming languages like Python or Scala and have strong SQL skills. Experience with spatial data analysis, AB testing, and working with large datasets using Hadoop and Spark is highly valued.
Apple offers a competitive compensation package including base pay between $136,300 and $248,700, plus opportunities for stock awards, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. You'll be part of a diverse, innovative environment where your contributions directly impact one of the world's most used mapping services.
