Description For DFM PCBA Engineer

As a DFM PCBA Engineer at Apple, you'll be part of a team that brings some of the world's most challenging consumer PCBA and Flex designs from concept to high volume manufacturing. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Verifying Quick Turn PCBA Vendor Technical Capabilities
  • Developing and maintaining PCBA DFM Procedures and Checklists
  • Creating Array Drawings for Product PCBAs
  • Managing PCBA Prototype, EVT, and DVT Assembly and Test at Manufacturing Subcontractors
  • Developing and maintaining PCBA Process Parameters and Procedures
  • Ensuring proper use of approved materials for PCBA assembly
  • Developing and maintaining PCBA Assembly Workmanship Standards
  • Supporting Component Engineering and ECAD Librarians
  • Managing PCBA PVT Assembly and Test
  • Verifying Volume PCB Vendor Technical and Quality Capabilities
  • Supporting ongoing Apple Service/Quality Issues
  • Developing necessary tooling and/or automation equipment
  • Developing and maintaining Cable assembly processes using hot bar equipment

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as an engineer or technologist with high creativity and curiosity about materials science and electronics packaging
  • BS degree in engineering disciplines (mechanical, industrial, chemical, electrical, or materials science)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with microelectronics fabrication and PCBA assembly properties and processes
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to define requirements and metrics for new products and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage and deliver results in a pure development role

This role offers a competitive base pay range of $136,300 to $205,500, along with additional benefits such as stock options, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, educational reimbursement, and more.
