Description For Hardware System Engineer - AirPods System Technologies - Digital

Apple's AirPods System Technologies Team is seeking an experienced Hardware System Engineer to join their innovative team in developing next-generation technologies. This role presents a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge custom silicon solutions that power one of Apple's most popular products.

The position demands a deep understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and system architecture, where you'll be responsible for developing specifications and analyzing designs for custom silicon solutions. You'll work with both in-house designers and third-party vendors, requiring excellent collaborative skills and technical expertise.

What makes this role particularly challenging and exciting is the need to work within the extremely constrained power and physical envelope of AirPods. Every microwatt and square millimeter counts, requiring careful consideration of tradeoffs across various engineering disciplines. You'll be involved in digital design, computer architecture, interface efficiency, and security analysis.

The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of experience in electronic system design or chip architecture, along with a strong educational background in Electrical Engineering. You'll need to demonstrate not just technical expertise, but also the ability to understand how various submodules interact within a complete system architecture.

Working at Apple comes with comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, and various stock programs. You'll be part of a team that's pushing the boundaries of what's possible in consumer electronics, with the opportunity to directly impact millions of users worldwide.

The role offers competitive compensation, with a base pay range of $175,800 to $312,200, plus additional benefits and stock options. You'll be working at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, where you'll collaborate with some of the industry's best minds in hardware engineering.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about hardware engineering, loves solving complex technical challenges, and wants to contribute to products that define new categories in consumer electronics.
