Apple's Wireless Software group is seeking a Modem System Test Engineer to join their team. This role involves advancing wireless connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and more. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and patenting next-generation connectivity technologies, collaborating across departments to craft wireless solutions that enhance the customer experience with Apple products and services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hands-on work with diagnostics, analytics, lab/field experimentations, and code/architecture review to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaboration with platform architecture, standardization, firmware/protocol development, system test, and carrier engineering teams.
- Involvement in all aspects of Protocol software, including PHY, RF, SIM, NAS, AS, IP, TCP/UDP, and iOS interfaces.
- Defining, developing, and validating cellular modem system test cases for mobile devices.
- Working on 5G NR PHY/MAC and higher layer control and user planes.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of systems integration and interoperability testing experience in the wireless and telecoms industry.
- Experience with popular test development platforms for mobile devices.
- Hands-on experience in Wireless System Testing, Certification, IOT, and/or Cellular System Performance.
- Excellent cross-team collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
