Product Design Engineer - AirPods & Future Products

We are looking for an accomplished Product Design Engineer to help take Airpods and other future products to the next level. As a member of our Audio Product Design team, you would conceive, design, test, solve problems, and bring into production products that re-define the music experience. We work closely with various multi-functional teams including Industrial Design, Audio Engineering, Packaging, Safety, Hardware Engineering, EMC, Operations and Marketing. Expertly integrating advanced components into brand new products means every single day is different here!

This role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in product design or equivalent. You should have demonstrated ability in plastic and metal part design, 3-D CAD skills, and stellar mechanical intuition. Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing is essential. Deep analytical/problem solving skills and the ability to use statistical tools and techniques are required. You should also have working knowledge of finite element analysis theory and general mechanical engineering analysis.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and comfortable working in a quickly changing environment. This role may require international travel (20%+). Preferred qualifications include experience working with overseas manufacturers, consumer electronics design experience, integration of wireless antenna into mechanical enclosures, experience with component modules, design of audio subsystems, ability to communicate in Mandarin, and an MSME degree.

At Apple, we offer a competitive compensation package, including base pay ranging from $175,800 to $312,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
