Description For RFIC Design Engineer

Apple's wireless RFIC team is seeking an experienced RFIC Design Engineer to join their innovative hardware division. This role sits at the heart of developing sophisticated wireless SoCs that power hundreds of millions of Apple products worldwide. You'll be part of a vertically integrated engineering team responsible for all aspects of wireless silicon development, from RF/Analog architecture to firmware engineering.

As an RFIC Design Engineer, you'll push the boundaries of wireless technology, working on groundbreaking projects that enhance product performance. You'll collaborate across multiple functional teams, including platform architecture, wireless design, and RF hardware/software, to define and implement radio features that enable wireless innovation. The role involves hands-on design work from concept to implementation, including transistor-level studies, simulations, and working closely with test engineers for product optimization.

The position offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $175,800 to $312,200, plus additional benefits such as stock options, comprehensive healthcare, and educational support. Responsibilities For RFIC Design Engineer

  • Lead design of radio transceiver chains, including TX, RX, and PLL-LOGen for wireless connectivity products
  • Drive radio KPI (power, area, performance) to meet product requirements
  • Work with multi-functional teams to define radio features enabling wireless innovation
  • Work with RF Systems in block level and high level specifications
  • Design RF and Analog loopbacks for calibration and compensation
  • Be responsible for the floorplan layout and verification of the design
  • Collaborate with RFIC test engineers in bring up, debug and optimization
  • Provide design versus silicon measurements correlation

Requirements For RFIC Design Engineer

  • BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Shown RF/analog and mixed-signal design experience in groundbreaking RF CMOS design
  • Strong understanding of analog design concepts such as analysis of noise, linearity, mismatch, stability
  • Experience in Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre RF, Matlab, EM simulation (EMX, HFSS)
  • Direct experience in designing and bringing wireless transceivers into mass production
  • Understanding DFT and DFM techniques for mass production environments
