Senior Site Reliability Engineer

The Media Platforms SRE team under the Apple Service Engineering division is responsible for powering the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. They build secure, end-to-end solutions, develop custom software for processing creative work, create tools for providers to deliver media, and develop server-side systems and APIs for many Apple services.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you'll be part of the Media Platforms SRE team, which designs, builds, and runs diverse services that ingest, transform, and manage all media content across products like the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Fitness+, and Apple TV+. You'll ensure systems are highly available, fast, and efficient, working with various system types including public-facing web & API developer services, pipeline-based transformation systems, internal business systems, and machine learning models.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and building reliable systems
• Transitioning services to Kubernetes microservices
• Working with state-of-the-art observability tools and monitoring platforms
• Developing tooling and infrastructure
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Collaborating closely with development teams

Required Qualifications:

• BS degree in computer science or equivalent with 6+ years experience, or MS degree with 4+ years experience
• At least 6 years in a Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused role
• Advanced experience with programming languages (Golang, Python, Java, C++)
• Deep systems and infrastructure knowledge
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
