Manager, Software Engineering

Aviso Wealth is seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to join their Information Technology Team. Reporting to the Director, Software Engineering, this role will work closely with other Technology Leaders to remove systemic organizational blockers, provide leadership, and coach Team Leads and Engineers. The position involves owning Software Engineering processes & roadmap, providing visibility, eliminating bottlenecks, and embedding governance & standardization across the Engineering function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support planning, coordination, and delivery of complex cross-team engineering initiatives
• Assess and improve the Software Engineering organization
• Set and track Team and Individual Goals using SMART metrics
• Align Team expectations with business partners and internal entities
• Facilitate collaboration, deployment planning, and issue resolution
• Provide leadership and coaching to develop High-Performing Teams
• Ensure corporate standards are applied in Team governance
• Monitor flow metrics and provide recommendations for improvement

Required Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technical Diploma, or relevant work experience
• 8-10 years of experience as a Software Engineering or Technical Product Manager
• Strong understanding of software development best practices and DevSecOps
• Experience with GitHub Co-pilot, Cloud Development (Azure), Microservices API architecture
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong teaching and training abilities

Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000 CAD annually
