Description For Senior Frontend Software Engineer II (Hybrid)

At Axon, we're on a mission to Protect Life. We're explorers, pursuing society's most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. As a senior Front-end software engineer on the Realtime Operations (RTO) team, you will collaborate with other engineers to shape and drive technical solutions for RTO web applications. Your strong design skills will help you make products like Axon Respond bulletproof and fault-tolerant, while meeting demanding interactivity and responsiveness requirements. You will work closely with engineers in your team to review designs and steer them toward more reliable and sustainable outcomes, making you a force multiplier. You are a great collaborator and coach, and will help to grow engineers in your team. You foster a friendly, open, introspective culture that encourages everyone to speak their mind and avoid red tape, unnecessary rituals, bureaucracy and politics.

As a senior technical contributor, you have a passion for technology, and keep abreast of the latest trends, frameworks, and tools. As a technical leader, you advise your manager on technical strategy for the team, while balancing business and engineering priorities to help determine the right long-term initiatives and investments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, operations and maintenance of mission-critical web applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design to solve the team's biggest technical challenges
  • Ensure performance, quality, reliability, availability and responsiveness
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards are maintained
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and practices

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of industry experience shipping Web applications
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks/libraries, including React or Angular JS
  • Strong experience with RESTful APIs
  • Experience of writing concurrent code that is free of data races
  • Experience building modular, scalable, and easy-to-maintain front-end applications
  • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON, including JSONRPC over Websockets
  • Track record of setting the technical and organizational direction for web development teams
  • Solid understanding of the full web development life cycle
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
