Assistant Chief Engineer

B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for the TownePlace Suites Fort Lauderdale West. This role is responsible for overall engineering operations, using leadership skills to drive revenue, maximize profit, and ensure quality. The position involves implementing maintenance programming, corporate standards, and managing the engineering staff to ensure the reliability and longevity of building equipment and systems.

Key responsibilities include:

• Understanding and managing preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and asset protection
• Identifying concerns and providing repair/maintenance solutions
• Controlling expenses and implementing cost-saving measures
• Managing the engineering department and team
• Following company standard operating procedures
• Providing on-the-job training
• Working collaboratively with all departments
• Maintaining a safe work environment

The ideal candidate should have 3-5+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in the hotel industry. They must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be able to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a college degree or equivalent experience preferred. Certifications such as CPO, HVAC, boiler, and Serve Safe are desired.
