Forward Deployed ML Engineer

Baseten is a growing team of builders backed by top-tier investors, providing ML infrastructure for enterprises and AI-native companies. We're seeking a Forward-Deployed ML Engineer to partner with our customers in understanding their problems and engineering ML solutions using Baseten's open-source Truss system.

As a Forward-Deployed Engineer, you'll have a unique front-row view into the opportunities and challenges facing companies implementing ML and AI solutions at scale. This role is particularly suited for entrepreneurial individuals who want to apply their experience in a highly technical role.

Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining software systems, collaborating on AI/ML pipelines, communicating complex technical topics, optimizing AI/ML projects, and owning products end-to-end. You'll need to navigate ambiguity, exercise good judgment, and demonstrate ownership in your work.

We're looking for candidates with a degree in Computer Science or related fields, 3+ years of professional experience, and strong skills in Python and AI/ML pipelines.
