Senior Ground Navigation Engineer - Blue Ring

Blue Origin, a pioneering space company, is seeking a Senior Ground Navigation Engineer for their Blue Ring project as part of their In-Space Systems business unit. This role focuses on addressing critical challenges in spaceflight, particularly space infrastructure and orbital mobility. The position combines sophisticated navigation work across multiple propulsion systems (chemical and electric) and measurement sources (GPS and radiometric) in various space environments including geostationary and cislunar space.

As a Senior Ground Navigation Engineer, you'll join the Astrodynamics and Trajectory Execution team, serving as both an individual contributor and domain expert for ground-based orbit determination. The role involves algorithm development and flight operations, requiring expertise in statistical orbit determination, mission design, and navigation systems. You'll be responsible for performing complex analyses, developing navigation capabilities, and supporting live mission operations.

The ideal candidate brings a strong academic background in engineering (M.S. required, Ph.D. preferred) combined with substantial practical experience in spacecraft navigation and mission design. Technical expertise in ground-based satellite navigation, statistical orbit determination, and programming (using languages like Python, Julia, C++, or MATLAB) is essential.
