Silicon Photonics PIC Design Engineer

Broadcom is seeking a motivated Silicon Photonics PIC Design Engineer with excellent communication skills. This role involves designing, simulating, laying out, testing, and verifying silicon photonics components and circuits at the system level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on integrated photonic circuit development
• Use simulation tools like Ansys/Lumerical and Cadence Virtuoso
• Work with fab/process engineers on device design and process monitoring
• Create test and qualification plans
• Validate link performance with various teams

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Optics with 10+ years of experience, or PhD with 7+ years of experience
• Proficiency in photonics design and simulation tools
• Deep understanding of high-speed RF modeling and parametric extraction
• Hands-on experience with high-speed active optical devices and passive optical structures
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
