Senior Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Platform - Risk)

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join their Platform Product Group, specifically focusing on the Risk engineering team. This role is crucial in building and maintaining the platform that manages financial threats to both the business and Coinbase users. The Platform Product Group's mission is to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to maximize velocity, efficiency and quality.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing next-generation core Risk platform architecture, interacting with various stakeholders across the organization, and shaping the strategy of the Risk platform. They will manage project priorities and deliverables while mentoring team members on design techniques and coding standards.

The role requires extensive experience in backend software engineering, particularly with Golang, and a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions for risk flows. The successful candidate will have experience building and scaling high-throughput, low-latency production services and architecting solutions to ambiguous problems.
