Founding Engineer (Full-stack)

Combinely is building an AI coworker for accountants.

Accounting firms spend $180 billion on labour in the US alone while their workforce is shrinking – 75% of CPAs will retire in the next decade. Combinely bridges the gap with an AI coworker that uses the same tools & knowledge to draft client-ready work just like a seasoned accountant.

Founded by an ex-Google engineer and a former Deloitte accountant, we're profitable, backed by top investors, and already live inside leading accounting firms across the world.

As a Founding Engineer, you will:

• Deliver magic – own end-to-end projects that wow users every single day
• Talk to customers – understand the impact of the product and how to take it to the next level
• Hire & mentor – help recruit the next wave of engineers and establish a positive & high-performance culture

We're looking for someone who is:

• Growth-oriented: excited to wade into the deep end and learn fast
• Customer-obsessed: energized by user problems and measures success in real-world impact
• High agency: defaults to action, breaks through blockers, and leaves things better than found

Our tech stack includes TypeScript, Next.js, Prisma + MySQL, deployed on Vercel, PlanetScale, GCP & Azure. You'll be working in-person in SF with our founding team, helping shape the future of accounting work.

The interview process is fast and straightforward:

1. Founder call (30 mins) – get to know each other
2. Take-home task (72h) – realistic project work
3. On-site interview (2-3h) – deep-dive technical discussion
