Gen AI - Staff Software Engineer

CommBank, Australia's largest bank and fintech, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Gen AI Domain. This role is part of an exciting initiative called "Transformer Banking" within their CDAO division. The position focuses on building and maintaining tools and capabilities needed to leverage Generative AI across the organization.

The Gen AI Domain team is responsible for developing technology platforms including the Gen AI Hub, RAG tooling, knowledge management services, and LLM access control planes. They also create business platforms such as the Customer Conversation Manager and Customer Activity Manager. The role involves working in a dynamic environment where managing ambiguity, maintaining strong team culture, and focusing on customer needs are essential.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of transforming banking through innovative Gen AI solutions. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including large language models, cloud platforms (AWS + Azure), and modern AI frameworks. The role requires expertise in prompt engineering, platform engineering, and knowledge engineering, along with strong technical skills in Python, TypeScript, and various AI/ML tools.
