As part of Keesing, the world's largest Braintainment company, CoolGames collaborates with major platforms like Netflix, Discord, Facebook, and Microsoft Play, working on famous IPs such as Battleship, Angry Birds, and Monopoly.
The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining reliable and scalable backend systems that power HTML5 casual games, directly impacting millions of players worldwide. You'll be working with cutting-edge technologies including Golang, cloud services, and modern DevOps practices. The position offers the flexibility to either join the Amsterdam studio or work remotely with their global teams.
As a Senior Backend Developer, you'll be responsible for the entire backend development lifecycle, from initial design to maintenance, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, manage deployments, and contribute to technical decisions that shape the platform's future.

Responsibilities For Senior Backend Developer (remote, fulltime)
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services
- Collaborate with designers, QA engineers, developers, and producers to refine requirements
- Manage deployments, infrastructure-as-code, and continuous integration pipelines
- Contribute to stability, scalability, and security of cloud services
- Participate in code reviews, technical design proposals, and team processes
- Champion and implement security best practices
- Monitor and improve system performance and reliability
Requirements For Senior Backend Developer (remote, fulltime)
- At least 5 years of professional backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Golang
- Solid knowledge of Linux environments and infrastructure best practices
- Experience with Ansible and Docker
- Experienced with Agile methodologies
- Strong communication skills with excellent English proficiency
- Experience with Git and automation pipelines
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Passion for game development
- Strong technical design skills with eye for detail
- Understanding of network communication protocols
