Description For Manufacturing Software Engineer

Copeland, a global climate technologies company with $5B in revenue, is seeking a Manufacturing Software Engineer for their Ava, MO location. This role combines software development with manufacturing systems support, offering a unique opportunity to work with both traditional software development and industrial automation.

The position involves designing and implementing software solutions for web, desktop, and automation systems, while also managing critical IT infrastructure including networks, servers, and CNC systems. You'll be responsible for maintaining workstations, troubleshooting technical issues, and managing user access through Active Directory.

This is an excellent opportunity for early-career software engineers interested in industrial software development and automation. The role requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, with programming knowledge including OOP and data structures. Experience with .NET, Ignition, Python, or Rockwell Automation is a plus.

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Software Engineer

  • Design and implement high-quality software solutions for web design, desktop software and automation support
  • Manage and monitor switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Manage network permissions and accounts using Microsoft Active Directory
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations and related peripheral equipment
  • Troubleshoot, backup and installation of CNC computer hardware and software
  • Diagnose and resolve network, server, and related issues
  • Submit end user access requests through Corporate IT ticketing system

Requirements For Manufacturing Software Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Information or Engineering field
  • Programming skills and understanding of OOP and data structures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational, presentation and project management skills
  • Ability to manage numerous projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States
