Engineering Manager - Web Video Player

As the Engineering Manager for the Web Video Player team at Crunchyroll, you will oversee the design, development, and optimization of our next-generation video player library. You will lead and grow a team of skilled engineers while advocating for our core values of operational excellence, engineering quality, and effective delivery. You'll establish relationships across Engineering, Program Management, and Product to drive projects and help deliver our technology roadmap.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of video player development engineers
• Fostering a culture aligned with core values
• Conducting regular one-on-one meetings focused on performance and career development
• Overseeing complex video player projects
• Ensuring best practices in software development
• Driving continuous improvement in video player performance and reliability
• Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
• Communicating project status to senior management
• Participating in hiring and acting as a spokesperson for the engineering team
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends
