Description For Senior Controls Engineer

DSI is a rapidly expanding company with over one hundred employees. The Facilities Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer will report to the Base Engineering Supervisor. This role supports the development and consistent implementation of engineering and construction standards in the design/execution of "Base" process facility projects. The engineer will collaborate with various departments to execute projects from initial concept through commissioning/start-up, provide support to existing assets, and function as an operations' engineering representative on new development projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with multiple departments to develop and execute facility infrastructure plans
  • Providing Instrumentation and Electrical troubleshooting and optimization support
  • Supporting project teams in execution, commissioning, and start-up of facility upgrades
  • Collaborating on scope definition, design, cost estimating, and construction cost control
  • Developing technical specifications and working on various electrical engineering aspects
  • Participating in safety reviews, risk assessments, and process hazard analysis
  • Monitoring project progress and costs
  • Leading programs to support maintenance of I&E equipment
  • Implementing engineering standards and reviewing deviations
  • Supporting programming efforts for various control systems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Instrumentation, Controls and/or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years' experience in Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical Industry
  • 5+ years of oil and gas experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and travel as needed (20% yearly)

Preferred qualifications include 10+ years of experience in various aspects of the field, advanced knowledge of technical standards, and experience with operations and maintenance departments.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $60 - $70 an hour, with additional benefits such as per diem, travel allowance, lodging, and phone allowance. The work schedule is 5 days on / 2 days off, with 8-hour workdays.
