Disney Experiences (DX) - Technology and Digital, a division of the Walt Disney Company, is seeking a Lead Software Architect to join their team. This role will be part of the DX Commerce Architecture team, supporting Lodging, Ticketing, Travel Trade and Ecommerce business domains.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing solutions based on organizational strategy
- Developing enterprise-level application and custom integration solutions
- Defining application tiers, frameworks, and interfaces for complex projects
- Identifying specifications and developing complex software solutions
- Leading technical project teams and resolving difficult support problems
- Researching and implementing industry trends in solutions, procedures, and tools
- Designing development standards and architectures for code reuse
- Participating in program-level application architecture decisions
- Advocating technical standards and providing project-level work product reviews
- Analyzing existing application environments for future strategic migration
- Collaborating with teams across multiple disciplines
Requirements:
- 7+ years relevant Architecture experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, XML, JSON, and GraphQL
- Deep understanding of AWS and other cloud providers
- Proficiency in architectural modeling technologies
- Experience architecting digital and mobile solutions
- Understanding of software design patterns (Micro Services), networks, and protocols
- Extensive knowledge of Engineering Technologies (Java, NoSQL, Node.js, Relational Databases)
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Experience driving complex technical programs across large stakeholder groups
- Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM or Agile/Kanban methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong executive presentation and speaking skills
- TOGAF certification
- 3+ years of experience architecting Lodging, Trade, and Ticketing systems
- Prior experience with Disney's business and applications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent industry experience
