Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their Ad Platforms team, which is responsible for Disney's industry-leading ad technology and products. Responsibilities For Lead Software Engineer

  • Full lifecycle of software development (requirements gathering, designing, building, testing, maintenance, and support)
  • Lead the design, development and deployment of microservices
  • Work with databases and message queues to ensure seamless data flow and integrations
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to a team of software engineers
  • Champion best practices for Software development
  • Conduct technical reviews and oversee implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, ensuring system stability and performance
  • Document technical decisions and maintain documentation

Requirements For Lead Software Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or technical field
  • 7+ years of experience in web application development
  • Deep expertise in Java, including core libraries, concurrency, and memory management
  • Strong understanding of Microservice Architecture
  • Deep expertise in the Spring Boot framework
  • Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, and Redis
  • Expertise in cloud-based computing principles and AWS
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
