Description For Lead Software Engineer - Ad Platforms

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology (DEEP&T) is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join their Ad Platforms team. This role is crucial in building and maintaining their high-performance, distributed, microservice-based Digital Advertising Platform that serves millions of users across Disney's properties including Hulu and ESPN+.

The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge ad technology solutions, handling Video on Demand, Live TV, and interactive ads across all of Disney's online properties. You'll be part of a team that develops critical components such as anti-ad fatigue systems, impression counting pipelines, and ad experience flows.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering scalable, performant, and maintainable software solutions. The role requires strong technical leadership, with responsibilities including code review, system design, and mentoring team members. You'll work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you'll collaborate with product teams to translate requirements into technical implementations.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $152,000 to $223,600 depending on location and experience. You'll be working with modern technologies including Java, SpringBoot, Kafka, Redis, and AWS, while contributing to systems that reach millions of users daily.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to make a significant impact on Disney's digital advertising infrastructure while working with cutting-edge technologies at massive scale. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both coding and guiding team success.
