Senior Software Engineer - Front End/Roku

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for their Roku Client Application team, focusing on building Direct-to-Consumer client apps like Disney+, Star+, ESPN and Hulu. This role is part of Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology, where innovation and magical viewing experiences are created for millions worldwide.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

• Developing new application features in BrightScript using Roku SceneGraph SDK
• Contributing to UI/UX experiences, analytics, and video playback functionality
• Working with JavaScript & React-based web tools, gulp build scripts, AWS configurations, and Node.js services
• Collaborating with Roku to evaluate new hardware, firmware and certification requirements
• Working closely with client SDK engineering, design engineering, and services engineering teams

The ideal candidate should have:

• 5+ years of development experience with client-side development stack (2+ years BrightScript preferred)
• Experience with MVVM architecture
• Strong proficiency in technical design and development of reusable solutions
• BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• Experience with streaming media technologies and DevOps practices

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $138,900 to $203,900 depending on location and experience, plus bonus potential and comprehensive benefits. This is an on-site position requiring presence in one of Disney's technology offices.
