Description For Assembly/Integration Engineer

DOD MG is seeking a motivated and organized Assembly/Integration Engineer to join their integrated engineering team in Malibu, CA. This role involves building new instrumentation hardware, working with mechanical and electrical subsystems, and integrating them into larger systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reading and understanding mechanical and electrical assembly drawings
  • Generating and refining documentation such as process instructions and block diagrams
  • Performing electrical characterization of components and integrated assemblies
  • Supporting laboratory inventory and procurement
  • Maintaining lab instrumentation

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in laboratory or manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and CAD software (SolidWorks)
  • Hand soldering and electronic assembly skills
  • Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical engineering concepts
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical assembly of complex systems (preferred)
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance

Responsibilities For Assembly/Integration Engineer

  • Work in mechanical and electrical subsystems and integrate them into a larger system
  • Read mechanical and electrical assembly drawings and understand configuration management
  • Generate and refine documentation such as process instructions, block diagrams, and bill of materials
  • Perform electrical characterization of components and integrated assemblies
  • Support and help organize laboratory inventory/procurement
  • Support maintenance of lab instrumentation

Requirements For Assembly/Integration Engineer

  • Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment involving assembly, integration, test, and troubleshooting
  • Experience following formal and informal assembly and integration processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks)
  • Experience with hand soldering and electronic assembly equipment
  • Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical engineering concepts
  • Knowledge of electronic and mechanical components, specifications, and packaging
  • Ability to read, generate, and understand engineering drawings, bills of material, schematic diagrams, assembly/process instructions, and terminology
  • Understanding of configuration management and inventory control
  • Excellent problem solving skills with good mechanical aptitude and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a creative team environment and possess excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related discipline
  • Preferably 5+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical assembly of complex systems
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance
