Element Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer for a 12-month project focused on building and maintaining a Unified Data Fabric for healthcare monitoring and oversight. This role is crucial in preventing fraud, waste, and abuse in healthcare delivery to millions of Americans.
As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating sophisticated data infrastructure using AWS services, implementing data lakes, and developing robust ETL pipelines. The position requires expertise in Python, SQL, and various AWS data services, with a focus on both batch and streaming data processing.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, strong technical skills in AWS data services, and a deep understanding of data architecture. Responsibilities For Data Engineer/12 Month Project
- Design and implement an S3-based data lake with proper zone-based organization
- Build robust data ingestion pipelines for batch and streaming data sources
- Develop ETL processes for data cleaning, normalization, and correlation
- Implement data quality validation and monitoring systems
- Create and maintain data catalogs and metadata management systems
- Design partitioning strategies and optimize data storage for performance
- Establish data retention and archival policies
- Collaborate with ML Engineer on feature engineering pipelines
Requirements For Data Engineer/12 Month Project
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering and pipeline development
- Expert-level experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Kinesis)
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks (Spark, EMR)
- Experience with data lake architectures and modern data stack
- Strong understanding of data modeling and schema design
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow or similar)
- Knowledge of data governance and quality practices
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
- Must reside in the Continental US
