Description For Senior Energy Modeler/Building Performance Analyst

Entuitive, a certified BCorp and carbon neutral company, is seeking a passionate Senior Energy Modeler/Building Performance Analyst to join their Advanced Performance Analysis team within the Sustainability + Performance group. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects in a collaborative environment, focusing on lowering climate change impacts through sustainable building design.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in building performance analysis, with expertise in energy modeling, daylight analysis, and thermal comfort evaluations. They will develop performance simulations for high-performance buildings, deep energy retrofits, and existing building energy audits using various software platforms like IES VE, RETScreen, and PHPP.

Key responsibilities include maintaining technical excellence in simulation services, developing internal tools and workflows, producing graphical representations of complex data, and preparing energy modeling reports for building codes and certifications. The role also involves client interaction, research on industry trends, and contributing to technical papers and presentations.

Responsibilities For Senior Energy Modeler/Building Performance Analyst

  • Develop performance simulations for high-performance buildings, deep energy retrofits, and existing building energy audits
  • Maintain high standards of technical excellence in simulation services
  • Develop internal scripts, tools, and workflows to enhance simulation quality and efficiency
  • Produce graphical representations of complex simulation data
  • Prepare energy modelling reports for building codes, incentive programs, and certifications
  • Research trends and technologies in high-performance building design
  • Work with clients to confirm performance needs and expectations
  • Draft technical papers and prepare presentations

Requirements For Senior Energy Modeler/Building Performance Analyst

Python
  • 8+ years of experience in building performance analysis
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NECB, ASHRAE 90.1, LEED, etc.)
  • Understanding of building science and HVAC systems
  • Interest in data management and representation via Excel
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience with energy auditing and retrofit analysis (asset)
  • Knowledge of embodied carbon, climate resiliency, and building science (asset)
