Description For Robotics Engineer Intern - Contact Based Control

Flyability, a pioneering company in the UAV indoor inspection industry, is seeking a Robotics Engineer Intern to join their dynamic team in Lausanne. With over 100 employees, Flyability has created Elios, the world's first collision-tolerant flying robot designed for complex indoor spaces.

As a Robotics Engineer Intern focusing on Contact Based Control, you'll play a crucial role in developing advanced control strategies for the Elios 3 drone. Your primary focus will be on maintaining stability and controllability during contact-based operations, working alongside the engineering team to tackle unique challenges in drone control during measurement tasks.

The role offers hands-on experience in developing and implementing control algorithms, analyzing external forces affecting drone stability, and conducting performance evaluations in demanding environments. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology that directly impacts industrial inspection safety by replacing human intervention in hazardous situations.

Ideal candidates should be pursuing a Master's degree in Engineering, with experience in control system design and robotic platforms. Strong programming skills in C++ and Python are essential, with ROS1/ROS2 experience being advantageous. The position requires analytical thinking, practical problem-solving abilities, and fluency in English.

At Flyability, you'll join a collaborative environment that values independent thinking and innovation. Every team member's voice is considered important in driving the company forward. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of robotics while gaining invaluable experience in a fast-growing industry.
