Description For Android Software Engineer

GameChanger is seeking an Android Software Engineer to join their product team dedicated to making GameChanger the ultimate hub for community engagement and insights around young athletes. The role involves developing features in the native Android application and across the stack, using modern tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead feature development for fan experiences, community engagement, and personalized content, focusing on the Android app.
  • Make architectural decisions and contribute to app development.
  • Collaborate with designers, testers, and product managers to find optimal solutions.
  • Mentor team members and promote responsible engineering practices.
  • Drive consensus on challenging problems within the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience leading successful Android projects and shipping high-quality apps.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and familiarity with reactive MVVM architecture.
  • Experience with Jetpack lifecycle components, Realm, and Flows/RxJava.
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional product team.
  • Ability to mentor engineers and organize work within a team.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the latest Android technologies and be comfortable in a cross-functional product team environment. Experience with iOS development (Swift) and backend technologies (TypeScript, Node.js, Redis, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS) is a bonus but not required.

GameChanger offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $160,000, along with equity, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. The company provides a remote-first work environment with the option to work from their Manhattan office.
